Plot: 5 friends are terrorized by a supernatural entity after downloading a mysterious app
SO, how many apps do you have on your phone? I have plenty. But I don’t ten to go around downloading any old things I get it. Especially if they look remotely strange, so I don’t think DJ and I would be in this situation and thank baby Jesus for that.
Mr. Bedeviled is no joke. He’s fucking scary. And he shape-shifts into your nightmares. For instance, there’s a clown and there’s an old woman at one point, so this thing has me and DJ’s nightmares covered. (Maybe I shouldn’t have typed that aloud.) It’s a cool, very original concept. We all have apps and to have one that kills, well that’s just not fair. However, these fools in the movie didn’t make it any easier for themselves. They kept splitting up even after the first one of them died and even after they knew why. WTF?!!
The acting isn’t that great. DJ didn’t like the direction too completely either. I think the writing could’ve used improvement. I mean, there was just no such thing as character development. Also, and this doesn’t really bother us, but there’s not a lot of blood and gore. It’s just not that kind of movie. It focuses more on jump scares and sheer dread. We suppose this may be a problem for some viewers, so just know what you’re getting into.
We recommend it though. DJ’s score: 60. My score: 74.
