Directed by Kevin Munroe. Written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. Starring Brandon Routh, Sam Huntington, Taye Diggs, and Kurt Angle.
Plot: based on the comic book, PI Dylan Dog and his zombie sidekick, Marcus, investigate the supernatural
Part crime noir, part horror comedy, this movie is much better than we expected. We usually don’t do crime noir, but this was different. For one thing, it’s funny as hell. For another the protagonists are completely likable. You know exactly who to root for and they work together so well. It followed rules, their was decent dialogue, a lovely cast (that Brandon Routh really does it for me), and some awesome effects.
There were some inconsistencies with the fighting and there were no boob shots when there could have been, but the direction and the rewatchability make up for that. And a nice story complete with a optimistic ending made it ownable.
Our score: 75.
