Directed by Gregory Jacobs. Written by Joe Gangemi and Steven Katz. Starring Emily Blunt, Ashton Holmes, Martin Donovan, Chelan Simmons, Linden Banks and Ned Bellamy.
Plot: 2 college students share a ride home for the Christmas holiday, but they break down on a deserted, freezing, snow-covered road and are haunted by the ghosts of people who died there
George Clooney executive produced this movie about a guy that wants a girl, so he sets a random trip up to be romantic, but fails when his reckless winter driving leaves them stranded on the side of the road. The girl (Emily Blunt) is simply known as Girl, while the guy (Ashton Holmes) is simply Guy. Not knowing their real names though, doesn’t take away from the chills in the movie or the emotion you feel towards them. At least, it didn’t for me. For DJ it was a different case.
She’s kind of a bitch in the beginning and he’s a real idiot. They never get any better according to DJ, but I did end up liking both of them. Which drew me into the story more and made it all so interesting. However, it wasn’t completely understood by us. But if you want to start watching some holiday horror now, I would put this on my watch list. DJ would not.
My score: 49. DJ’s score: 34.
