Directed by Jonathan Hopkins. Written by Hopkins and Richard Hobley. Starring Maggie Q, Will Kemp, Sophia Wiseman, William Hope, Kristen Bush and Sam Troughton.
Plot: a sleep doctor tries to protect a family from a sleep demon that feeds on people in their nightmares.
This movie makes a lot of no sense. Alice (Q) is a sleep doctor who lost her brother during a sleep paralysis episode. We think that sleep paralysis is a pretty terrifying thing so, we’d love to see someone do this sort of horror justice, but I don’t feel like it’s happened yet.
Alice is helping a family that has nightmares, paralysis and sleepwalking episodes. Of course, they put the dog in the movie just to kill it. That’s ridiculous. They always do that. And it’s even sicker how they do it. But there’s good Freddy Claws in the movie. Which was important. But then the end, which I won’t reveal for the people that want to be surprised, shit the bed. Totally. It didn’t make any sense at all.
We didn’t find it very scary, but if you want to make a go of it, we won’t try to stop you.
Our score: 41.
