He Never Died (2015)

Written and directed by Jason Krawczyk.  Starring Henry Rollins, Booboo Stewart, Don Francks, Jordan Todosey, Kate Greenhouse, James Cade and Steven Ogg.

Plot: you’re not-so-typical antihero tries hard to only eat bad people after his anti-social world is interrupted.

First of all, we gotta say, well done Jason Krawczyk!  Second of all, I’ve decided not to tell you the big secret of the movie.  What I can tell you is that Jack (Rollins) lives a very anti-social life, eating vegan and playing bingo even though underneath everything he’s a cannibal/vampire person who really gets his kicks off blood.  So, when his estranged daughter (Todosey) is kidnapped and his life is turned upside down, he starts killing and eating everyone to find her.  And it’s hellacious fun.

It’s funny.  There’s an enormously talented cast.  It followed rules.  The effects were nice.  It was realistic – because people do suck that much.  It was rewatchable and just plain fun.  Also, so original.  And we loved the ending.  Frankly, I hope those crazy kids stay together because all of his “issues” wouldn’t have turned me off.  But I’ve been called sick before so…

We love this movie.  Go see it.  Rent it.  Buy it.  Whatever you have to do.

Our score: 85.
