The Rig (2010)

Directed by Peter Atencio.  Written by Scott Martin, C.W. Fallin, Lori Chavez and Marilee A. Benson.  Starring William Forsythe, Stacey Hinnen, Sarah D’Laine, Marcus T. Paulk, Carmen Gloria, Robert Zachar, Art LaFleur, Scott Martin and Daniel Benson (Marilee’s son).

Plot: in the midst of a tropical storm, the crew of an oil rig fight to survive an undersea creature that they disturbed.

So, the poster is better than the movie.  That happens sometimes.  But that is the reason we decided to watch it and it was a mistake mostly.  I can’t really tell you anything about the plot that I haven’t mentioned because that’s all there is really.  It’s just the crew of a rig, fighting a monster, because they’re stuck during a storm.

We could have done without the flashbacks to events that happened only ten minutes ago.  People get all stupid and go off by themselves and of course, get killed.  It doesn’t establish any rules either.  It’s a pretty crappy movie – a subpar creature feature.  The only thing good about it was the boobs.

Our score: 32.
