Saturday Morning Mystery (2012) (AKA Saturday Morning Massacre)

Directed by Spencer Parsons.  Written by Jory Balsimo, Kat Candler, Aaron Leggett, Jason Wehling and Jonny Mars.  Starring Ashley Spillers, Josephine Decker, Adam Tate, Paul Gordon and Jonny Mars.

Plot: a Scooby-Doo like team of paranormal investigators go to a remote mansion plagued by rumors of Satanism.

It’s a ripoff of Scooby Doo.  And we knew this going in.  We were just expecting it to be much funnier than it was, but maybe there were just too many hands in the cookie jar.  I mean, what the hell do you need five writers for?

We did think it got started promising enough, but then it just got weirder and weirder.  Then, they killed the dog.  I mean, it’s Scooby Doo and you kill the dog?  I wasn’t expecting that.  But of course, they killed the dog because that’s the only reason you put a dog in a horror movie these days.  Ugh!

It ended up being a terrible movie with a terrible motive.  We do not recommend.

Our score: 26.

  1. Sounds terrible. I don’t think I’ve seen this one so thanks for saving me the misery. When you said “Scooby Doo rip-off” that told me pretty much how bad the movie must be.
