Tremors (1990)

Directed by Ron Underwood.  Written by S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock.  Starring Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire, Ariana Richards and Finn Carter.

Plot: people of a small town in Nevada must defend themselves against underground creatures trying to kill them.

There is no extra plot to this story.  Underground creatures are trying to kill people and the people are trying to survive.  That’s it.  That’s the story.  The tremor creatures are nasty.  It’s terrible.  They’re like slugs and it’s just eww.  It’s not really scary, but it’s eww.

The effects are incredible for 1990.  The people are likable.  The ending is good.  A lot of people live which we like.  It followed rules.  The script was marvelous.  The cast was awesome.  And there was pretty good Freddy Claws considering the situation.  The only thing I didn’t like was that a horse died and it was pretty graphic for me.  So, I did knock it down some points.  But it still got a really satisfactory score.  We really enjoyed this movie.

My score: 74.  DJ’s score: 79.
