Flight 7500 (2014)

Directed by Takashi Shimizu.  Written by Craig Rosenberg.  Starring Ryan Kwanten, Amy Smart, Jamie Chung, Leslie Bibb, Scout Taylor-Compton, Nicky Whelan, Jerry Ferrara, Johnathon Schaech, Christian Serratos, Alex Frost and David Chisum.

Plot: a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo encounters a supernatural force.

At first look, we didn’t like any of the characters.  The plane was full of nut jobs.  A couple (Kwanten and Smart) only pretending to be a couple.  A flight attendant (Bibb) sleeping with her married pilot (Schaech).  A girl obsessed with death (Compton).  A hypochondriac (Whelan) and her pushover husband (Ferrara).  And a thief (Frost) trying to bring everyone around him down to his level.

The plane hits turbulence and everything flies all over and one very strange passenger dies.  The thief tries to steal a watch off the dead guy, but it doesn’t go so well for him.  And when he and the original body go missing, it’s game on – as they say.

The movie is less of horror story and more of a warning, but we won’t give anything away cause we actually liked it.  It followed the rules it made.  It was realistic.  The cast was fantastic.  We even laughed in parts.  And I really liked the ending.

My score: 60.  DJ’s score: 56.
