Directed by Victor Garcia. Written by William Massa. Starring Amanda Righetti, Cerina Vincent, Erik Palladino, Tom Riley, Andrew Lee Potts and Jeffrey Combs.
Plot: a man kidnaps people to help him find a priceless statue inside Hill House.
So, Sara from the first movie is killed by Desmond (Palladino), who makes it look like a suicide. Then, he kidnaps her sister, Ariel (Righetti) and Ariel’s boyfriend, Paul (Riley) because Sara had found a journal of Vannacutt’s (Combs) and Desmond wants it. And he wants this idol thing that is hiding in Hill House. Meanwhile, there’s this professor that’s also looking for the idol that also ends up at Hill House. If this all sounds stupid, that’s cause it is.
There’s betrayal and ignorance right away. The acting is pretty bad even from the more well-known actors. And the only black guy dies first, while the only Asian girl dies second – nice! It’s very unrealistic. And it ends stupid.
In this one, too, the statue is the heart of evil in the whole of Hill House. The doctor, who in the first one was all evil and shit, is really only a prop in this movie. He’s simply taken over by the evil in the idol. It’s trash. It’s just not as good as the first one. The story is silly.
My score: 20. DJ’s score: 10.
