Bride of Chucky (1998)

Directed by Ronny Yu.  Written by Don Mancini.  Starring Katherine Heigl, Nick Stabile, John Ritter, Alexis Arquette, Jennifer Tilly and Brad Dourif.

Plot: Chucky is resurrected by Tiffany (Tilly), who he then kills and puts into a doll’s body.

After Chucky is resurrected by Tiffany and after he kills her and puts her soul into a doll’s body, they both hop a ride to Hackensack, NJ.  It’s Chucky’s plan to dig up his human body to get an amulet that would make it possible for them to jump into the bodies of a young couple, Jesse (Stabile) and Jade (Heigl).  If this all sounds interesting, than maybe this movie is for you.  As for me and DJ, we did not enjoy it very much at all.

It’s kinda boring.  It’s really unrealistic.  There’s shitty Freddy Claws.  We couldn’t believe Don Mancini wrote this one after writing the earlier Chucky movies.  We’re not sure where he was going with this.  And if you’ve seen Seed, which will be up next, I’m sure you know that he was going nowhere good.

The characters were unlikable.  There were also no real rules.  Aside from some cool kills and a good cast, it wasn’t worth the time.

Our score: 23.
