Plot: chicken nuggets turn a young girl into a zombie and she infects some more kids and they start eating the adults.
On a normal school day, a young girl eats a rather nasty chicken nugget during lunchtime and immediately becomes infected, turning into a zombie. She becomes quite ravenous and starts biting all her fellow students. Then, they start eating all the adults at the school except for a select few who who have to battle back.
Most of this movie is wonderful. Well, all except the prefatory scene that’ll make you put down the bucket of chicken for a little while at least. But the rest is excellent. All the characters are likable, from the gay teacher (McBrayer) to the gun-toting Christian teacher (Pedrad), and they all work together nicely. The Freddy Claws is fantastic.
There’s lots of nice homages to good movies that have come before it. There’s nice innovation from both the teachers trying to survive and the students trying to kill. The effects are also good. And while the zombie baby was awesome, we thank them for not being too graphic with it. They went just far enough in our opinion.
It followed good rules, had a great script (“Nap time, motherfuckers!”) and was hilarious. Even the science in the movie was legit. We have no qualms with recommending that you go out and buy this one. We loved it.
Our score: 84.
