Directed by J. S. Cardone. Written by Boaz Davidson and Ben Nedivi. Starring Scout Taylor-Compton, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lori Heuring, Ben Cross and Geoffrey Lewis.
Plot: undead children come back to seek revenge.
In 1913, a mine collapses with a bunch of children inside. All of them die. 90 some odd years later, a woman (Heuring) and her two children, a hormonal teenager, Sara (Taylor-Compton) and a gooddish, if not overly curious, youngster, Emma (Moretz) move to that same mining town, in a house where some of the mining kids lived. Weird things start when a man smears blood on their door that the mother would prefer he not do. He explains it’s necessary, but she doesnt care. Then, Emma starts ranting and raving about her new friend Mary that no one really ever sees. And then Sara and her friends are attacked.
There’s a good story somewhere in here and a good motive, too, but the plot holes weigh it all down. And are they zombies or ghosts? Cause they’re dead and all, but they don’t completely act like one or the other. The rules are whack-a-doodle. And DJ really didn’t like the end. It left open too many questions.
I suppose I could list my favorite movies here, but instead I'll give you a strange glimpse into what makes me TaraRomero.
1. My favorite place in the world is Atlantic City. The food, the smells, the beach - I love it all.
2. I am particularly good at crafting. Especially scrapbooking and cross-stitch.
3. I am mixed. My dad is black and my mom is white. I'm very proud of both sides of myself.
4. My favorite food is either the cheesesteak or the hoagie. Not the sub, not the grinder, the hoagie. Totally different experience.
5. I have a number of pen pals I write snail mail to. We exchange stickers and little gifts sometimes, too. I have an extensive sticker collection.
6. I just reconnected with my father after 15+ years. It's going great so far. I've missed him.
7. My brother is my best friend, hence the reason we do this together.
8. I don't have a favorite book. I like too many to have a favorite. But Paul Zindel is my favorite author. Stephen King and Jane Austen are close seconds. I know, eclectic.
9. I'm not very religious at all. I consider myself agnostic.
10. I would say that my most prized possessions are my dogs, but I don't consider them possessions. I consider them people. They are my people.

Well said about this movie. There was awesomeness in there somewhere, especially with Chloe Grace at that age, since I think she was a much better starlet than adult actress. But there was too many holes in the plot, the rules were all over the map, and the ending was utterly dreadful.

Truth. Chloe Grace really was amazing as usual, but she couldn’t save the movie all by herself. Needed a concrete plotline and it didn’t have that.
