Hungry?

This movie opens with a series of bad choices, but don’t quite a few movies in general start that way, especially in the horror genre. That often doesn’t make for very likable characters but against the backdrop of this dingy dirty town full of assholes and crazies, you can’t help but root for the group of friends.

A good reason to watch

We follow the group into this twisted town and yell at them for their choices and cringe when they meet each new inhabitant of the backwoods clusterfuck with a zip code. Remakes are always argued over but this one is really good. The retelling is on point. The cast is incredible. Jessica is o so easy on the eyes and the tank top, running, sweat and eventually rain make her more appealing.

Ya never wanna make these faces

The special effects are fantastic. The movie is paced well. We usually don’t like when the whole town is in on it, making it impossible to find help but it doesn’t hurt this too much. There is no Freddy Claws as a result so parts are frustrating. Though there are a couple of really satisfying payoffs made sweeter by earlier frustration.

This is one of favorites of the entire series, earning a 61 from Tara and a 72 from me.
