Possession (2012)

Directed by Ole Bornedal. Written by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White. Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Natasha Calis, Madison Davenport and Grant Show.

Plot: a young girl buys a box with a spirit trapped inside and it possesses her.

So, the young girl, Em (Calis) buys a weird box at a yard sale and brings it back home with her. At first though, it seems there is no way to open the box, but later in the day, she hears whispers coming from the box and finds she CAN open it. Inside, she finds a tooth (eww), a ring (which she starts to wear), a dead moth and a wooden figure. And when people try to seperate the girl from the box, things get really crazy.

We found this movie to be anything, but your run-of-the-mill possession story, but it still shit the bed. As a matter of fact, by the end of the movie, it had pissed the bed, rolled over and shit the other side. It was that bad of an ending. No one was really all that likable except the Jewish guy and they shit on that, too. It was really hard to enjoy even with the exceptional cast, great effects and satisfying opening. We recommend only to die hard horror fans of the supernatural genre.

Our score: 40.
