Before I Go to Sleep (2014)

Written and directed by Rowan Joffe. Based on the novel of the same name by S. J. Watson. Starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Anne-Marie Duff.

Plot: a woman wakes up every morning remembering nothing of the day before due to a traumatic accident, but is the life she’s waking up in the real one?

While I’m not sure it qualifies as a horror horror movie per se, it’s listed as such on IMDB and I’ll watch almost anything Colin Firth does, so here goes nothing.

When the movie starts, Christine (Kidman) is afraid of the life she’s living and her husband, Ben (Firth) is not helping. He’s keeping things from her that he says are for her own good, but how can she now trust the only person she has to depend on??

From the jump, you know something is wrong with Ben. Apparently Firth can play creepy quite well and does. Having said that, it didn’t take me long to figure out that “Ben” was not her real husband. He’s not even her real “Ben”. It’s very, very predictable and it’s been done before. This time though, the cast was beautiful, Kidman made a very likable Christine and the ending was an enjoyable one. I would recommend giving it a look see.

My score: 55.
