Creep (2004)

Writer/Director Christopher Smith.  Starring Franka Potente and Joe Anderson.

Plot: a woman gets stuck in the train tunnels with a killer

creep-pic-2

A really tired party girl decides to leave one party for another because she believes George Clooney is going to be there.  She falls asleep in the underground train station and when she wakes up, the station is closed and locked up.  While trying to find her way out, she comes in contact with something that’s been living in the tunnels for a long time, eating anything it wants to survive.  Including people.

Normally, this would be the perfect setup for an excellent horror movie, but this unrealistic film isn’t worth the 85 minutes it takes to watch it.  Potente is a stupid, bitchy person.  She’s not likable and she’s a bit too worthless to live.  She’s a lot like the movie itself.  Stupid, unlikable and pointless.

The killer was too invincible.  What was his motive?  What were the rules?  He had none and there were none.  Also, despite the killer running around and everyone knowing about it, no one cooperated with one another.

The acting was good though.  As were the specials and the make up.  But at least the dog lived.  That’s always important.

My score: 25.  DJ’s score: 15.
