Plot: A family tries to survive a horrible demon problem.

Let’s start off with the fact that none of the Evil Dead movies would ever happen to my sister and me. They always involve people being super nosey and overly curious and pretty much always having no respect for the possibility of shit getting real. If people would just show some respect and restraint, a lot of trouble could be avoided. This entry in the series has some fool going into a hole created by an earthquake and taking a weird ass looking book and some records. Danny has some skills even though they don’t involve decision making and listens to and reverses the records, discovering priests talking about the book and it’s evil.

The evil, of course, comes for the family, possessing one of them to start all the madness. When the shit hits the fan, the family fights back; neighbors even try to help. A lot of weird and crazy things go on. And eventually they try to escape the building.

The movie drew me in with a great cast and some really interesting innovation. It is realistic enough and is well directed. The special effects are fantastic and we dig the jump scares. It is gross in parts but the end is satisfying and Nell Fisher who plays Kassie is so freaking cute, you could eat her up.
We both recommend this Evil Dead movie for your viewing pleasure. Tara gave it a 68 and I scored it a 78.
