Night of the Creeps (1986)

Written and Directed by Fred Dekker (who the year after this would direct and help write Monster Squad). Starring Jason Lively, Jill Whitlow, Tom Atkins, Steve Marshall, Suzanne Snyder, Allan Kayser, David Paymer, Vic Polizos and Evelyne Smith.

Plot: College students must fight alien slugs that turn people into Zombies.

This is one of my all time favorites! It follows a pair of best friends that are super likable. They are lovable losers just trying to make it in the world. One has a crush on a girl out of his league. The dialogue is great, really funny and very realistic. “Brad” is the quintessential 80’s bad guy and it work’s great. A lot of the other frat guys are clearly 40 years old though. Several characters are named after famous directors like Cameron, Romero, Cronenberg, and Hooper, which is a fantastic nod to the genre.

Pretty Creepy in parts with nice innovation and great effects. The movie followed rules and had good “Freddy Claws”. No one was like “”hey, that’s not happening”, and no one stood in anyone else’s way. We love the protagonists of the movie! Especially J.C. and his sincere recorded message to Chris. I can’t get enough Cynthia (played by the gorgeous Jill Whitlow)! Also, starring the lovely Suzanne Snyder who I adored in Weird Science, Return of the Living Dead 2 and Killer Klowns From Outer Space.

This movie has one of the most heartbreaking scenes in a horror movie ever for both me and Tara. Night of the Creeps is a lot of fun to watch though, very engaging, realistic and highly re-watchable. We really really really want you to watch this movie. It is great! We both give it a 91/100!!!

how badass is this….kinda hot too….see what I did there.
